The Arria 10 SOM is an Arria 10 SoC System on Module with an emphasis on embedded and automotive vision applications. Using Altera’s Arria 10 SoC Devices in the 29×29 mm package, the module offers a multitude of interfaces in a small 10 cm by 6 cm form factor.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are searching for an enthusiastic candidate for the role of SoC Architect for our highly complex SoC development.

You will play a key role in our projects and interact with the design, verification, and physical design teams as well as with international customers.

This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies for our highly complex SoC and image pipeline development projects.

  • Definition of the architecture of complex SoCs including the selection of technology, internal and external IP fulfilling the customer requirements in a wide spectrum of applications in the automotive, industrial, or commercial context.
  • Deeply involved within customer discussions for the alignment of requirements, keeping track of functionality as well as power-performance-area restrictions. Support of our Sales department in technical discussions already in the project acquisition phase.
  • Writing of System Requirements and Functional Top-Level Specifications together with our team of architects. Typically accompanying the complete lifecycle with direct contact to our Design, Verification, Backend, and Test Teams as well as being in close contact with project management.
  • Perform detailed calculations to specify computation throughput, memory bandwidth, and latency, evaluate performance vs area vs power tradeoffs.
  • Collaborate with software and firmware teams to ensure that the ASIC meets the required performance goals.

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or comparable.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Digital ASIC architecture and proficient in SystemVerilog.
  • Used to working in a customer-oriented, self-reliant, extremely reliable, and structured manner and able to collaborate with international development teams.
  • Strong interest in SoC architecture and SoC level chip design with a good understanding of hardware/software partitioning and decent knowledge of microprocessor, interconnect, and memory architectures.
  • Experience with ARM and/or RISC V CPU and IP families.
  • Deep knowledge in requirements management is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the special aspect of functional safety (ISO 26262) is an advantage.
  • Skills in C / C++ / SystemC / Python beneficial.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
