- Completed degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics or a comparable field
- Ideally +5 years of experience in the field of systems engineering with relevant experience in security topics such as key management and system design
- A structured, pro‑active and responsible approach to work and a high level of quality awareness
- A high level of knowledge and experience in the system security domain. Basic knowledge of cryptographic algorithms is an asset but not critical
- A good level of knowledge in the relevant standards (e.g. CCSDS and technical guidelines)
- Experience with requirements management systems and other relevant tools, such as office products and version control software are a bonus
- Fluency in spoken and written German and English are beneficial for this position. Exceptions can be discussed
What are your responsibilities?
- Envision and design state‑of‑the‑art security systems and modules for complex missions with a focus on compliance and resiliency within the Research & Development directorate
- Define and tailor from a broad field of applicable requirements from internal and external sources into elegant system solutions
- Support the projects and ensure requirements compliance from the kick‑off to the final delivery with close cooperation between the internal engineering team, the customer and third parties throughout the development cycle
- Support and align engineering from different domains (i.e. software, hardware, FPGA) in understanding and realizing the requirements to meet the customer expectations
- Create relevant documentation for internal and external stake‑holders in compliance with relevant ECSS, CCSDS and other official standards that are relevant to a successful product development
- Plan and coordinate testing campaigns with internal and external parties
- Monitor and observe industry trends with focus on security solutions. Support in proposal‑writing for grant‑application of different formats (e.g. ESA ITTs, private sector)
