Role Overview:
As the Head of Aerospace Logistics, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and development of our aerospace business across Germany and the broader European market. You will be responsible for both commercial and operational leadership, ensuring the successful delivery of end-to-end aerospace logistics services. This role requires a strategic visionary who can enhance our capabilities, strengthen client relationships, and manage seamless, efficient logistics solutions tailored to the aerospace industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the long-term strategy for the aerospace logistics vertical in Germany, ensuring alignment with the company’s global objectives and regional growth targets.
• Business Development & Sales: Drive new business opportunities and manage key aerospace accounts across the region. Cultivate strong, lasting relationships with aerospace clients and expand our footprint in the aerospace sector.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee the day-to-day operations of aerospace logistics, including the transportation, storage, and handling of aerospace parts, components, and equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and high service standards.
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a high-performing team of logistics professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance, training, and performance management.
• Market Insights: Monitor trends, regulations, and technological advances in both the aerospace and logistics sectors. Position the company as a thought leader and trusted partner in the aerospace supply chain.
• Cost Control & Profitability: Oversee the financial performance of the aerospace vertical, managing costs while ensuring profitability and maintaining the high standards of service delivery that our clients expect.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders (sales, operations, finance, legal, IT) to integrate services and ensure smooth collaboration across all functional areas.

Ideal Profile:

• Experience: At least 7-10 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or freight forwarding, with a proven track record in the aerospace sector. Previous experience in a leadership or management role is required.
• Commercial & Operational Expertise: Strong balance of commercial acumen and operational know-how. Ability to drive sales and business growth while ensuring operational excellence in logistics operations.
• Leadership & People Skills: A natural leader with excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Experience managing and inspiring diverse, cross-functional teams.
• Aerospace Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the aerospace industry’s logistics requirements, including international transportation, customs regulations, and specialized handling of aerospace materials and components.
• Strategic & Analytic Thinking: Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to think strategically and execute plans that drive growth and innovation in the aerospace logistics space.
• Educational Background: A degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Language Skills: Fluency in English is required; German language skills are a significant advantage.
