Your role
As an Import & Export Specialist (m/f/d), you will work together with the Supply Chain team to ensure that their international goods flows are handled reliably, on time and in compliance with all customs and foreign trade regulations.
You are a central interface between our customers, freight forwarders, authorities and internal departments, and you accompany our international deliveries from order processing to complete export or import documentation.
In this role, you will not only take on operational tasks, but also actively contribute your experience to continuously improve our import, export and customs processes.
This position is located in Wittstock/Heiligengrabe and requires on-site presence five days a week. Working hours are Monday to Friday, either from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
As Export & Import Specialist, you are responsible for managing the Wittstock and Kleinheubach locations and ensuring the smooth operation of international import, export and customs processes.
Your tasks
Import & Export
- Handling of international customer orders and transports
- Preparation and review of export and shipping documents
- Ensuring compliance with import and export regulations
- Coordination with customers, freight forwarders and authorities
- Monitoring of delivery dates and transport processes
Customs & Foreign Trade
- Legally compliant customs and export processing
- Verification of proofs of origin and preferential origin
- Export control and compliance with sanctions and embargo regulations
- Communication with customs authorities and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce
- Support with audits and customs inspections
Collaboration & further development
- Contact person for customs and foreign trade issues
- Close collaboration with supply chain, warehouse and customer service
- Optimization of import, export and customs processes
- Supporting the warehouse area and representing the warehouse manager when needed
This is what you bring with you
- Completed commercial training, training in logistics, foreign trade or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in the field of import, export, customs or international trade
- Good knowledge of customs and foreign trade regulations
- Experience with international shipping and export documentation
- Sound knowledge of Incoterms® 2020
- Knowledge of international payment terms and ideally experience with letters of credit
- Experience in dealing with customs authorities and other external bodies
- SAP knowledge is an advantage.
- Experience with AEB Export Filing and/or ELEX is an advantage.
- Excellent organizational skills and a structured, reliable work ethic
- Strong communication skills and enjoyment of collaborating with various internal and external contacts.
- Fluent German skills and good English skills, both spoken and written.
