As a Formulation scientist you will develop new formulations & support idea generation, with in-depth understanding of physics of emulsion and powder formation and characterization. You are familiar with relevant formulation techniques, such as emulsification, spray-drying, fluidized bed coatings, extrusion, and granulation. Ideally, you already gained experience in how to modulate bioavailability and how to release bioactives at specific sites (controlled release). You will be part of a globally operating team and you will cooperate cross-functionally with different departments and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading projects for the development of food, dietary supplements, and oral pharma applications.
- Active planning as well as participation in cross-functional ideation workshops. Planning, execution, and evaluation of experiments.
- Comprehensive reporting and documentation of results and experiments including presentations.
- Development of relevant characterization methods and evaluation of new technologies/tools.
- Carrying out literature searches and IP screenings.
- Safety assessment of laboratory processes. Training and guidance of laboratory staff.
You bring:
- Education in pharmaceutical technology, food technology, chemistry, materials science or similar. PhD with 5+ years of experience, or 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Proven expertise in emulsification, spray drying, granulation, and extrusion processes, along with a deep understanding of the physics behind liquid and powder formulation techniques is a mandatory requirement.
- Expertise in relevant characterization methods. Knowledge on modulating bioavailability and controlling release of bioactives at specific organs or release sites would be advantageous.
- Collaborative mindset to support idea generation and subsequent translation into lab trials; results-oriented team player.
- Innovative and creative mindset to encourage people to think “out of the box”. Agility, openness to change and identifying/creating opportunities in a dynamic market environment.
- Fluent English, German will be an asset.
