In the US, the salary scale provided reflects the pay range dsm‑firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job‑related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and primary work location. Salary $148,000‑$180,000. Define and implement the Animal Health scientific strategy for monogastric animals, in line with marketing and sales strategy in this space. Lead scientific competence and technical development and play a pivotal role in the training and mentoring of other scientists in your field of expertise. Foster cross‑functional collaboration by sharing knowledge and expertise with internal stakeholders (Fellow scientists, Precision services, sustainability, …), promoting best practices, and identifying new business opportunities. Act as scientific lead in R&D project, in close collaboration with the project managers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure scientific excellence and translational relevance. Support the existing products and services portfolio through interaction with marketing and sales team, scientific communities, customers and key opinion leaders. Globally recognized expertise in the field of Poultry Health/Veterinary Science (Swine experience on top is an advantage). Hands‑on experience in developing and testing animal health products, including veterinary pharmaceuticals and/or feed additives. A solid scientific network of potential partners and collaborators that could be mobilized to answer R&D and marketing demands. A strong “can‑do” attitude, with the ability to challenge the status quo and to offer new ideas, new approaches, new value propositions and to contribute to their execution. A solid understanding of Animal agriculture, its challenges and opportunities, and real vision as to how science could help address this. A highly collaborative attitude with the ability to operate within multiple teams as well as independently and to take initiative within agreed perimeter of responsibilities. Candidate must be fluent in English and able to travel. Veterinarian or PhD level is preferred, with at least 8 years of experience in the field.
