At Bees & Bears, we are a Climate FinTech on a mission to unlock capital for the energy transition. Finance is the bottleneck of decarbonization, and we are building the infrastructure to solve it. By 2050, the world needs to invest €150 trillion to reach climate neutrality. 65% of this investment will need to be financed through loans. We are building the risk engine that makes this possible.

We are a Climate FinTech focused on accelerating the energy transition by enabling financing for climate hardware installations through scalable risk management and credit underwriting.

Responsibilities

Your Impact

• Lead a growing Risk team, creating clarity, structure, and strong performance standards
• Own credit underwriting quality and portfolio performance across B2B and B2C
• Build scalable risk processes, policies, and decision frameworks to support rapid growth
• Drive automation, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making in the risk function
• Balance growth and risk while ensuring losses remain within defined risk appetite
• Work hands-on where needed while shaping the long-term risk strategy

This role replaces the interim leadership and is critical for building a long-term, scalable risk function that enables sustainable growth. You will lead a growing team, manage a rapidly expanding credit portfolio, and build the processes, systems, and culture required for scale. This is a build-and-lead role with full ownership of the risk function, reporting directly to the founder and leadership team.

• Strong experience in credit risk and underwriting, ideally across both B2B and consumer lending
• Proven leadership experience, with the ability to build and develop high-performing teams
• A hands-on mindset combined with strategic thinking
• The ability to operate effectively in fast-changing, imperfect environments
• A strong ownership mentality and drive to make things happen
• A data-driven approach to decision-making
