Dynatrace is looking for a creative and driven engineer to join our team and make a significant impact on the OpenTelemetry community and the Dynatrace platform. If you thrive on building high‑quality software, collaborating with a global community, and working on the cutting edge of technology, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain high‑quality, scalable software using Go (Golang).
Become a key contributor to the OpenTelemetry project, including the OpenTelemetry Collector and related ecosystem projects.
Design, implement, and improve components that enhance our OpenTelemetry‑based observability solutions.
Collaborate with engineers and product managers at Dynatrace, as well as the wider OpenTelemetry community, to help drive our strategy.
Think strategically about the integration of OpenTelemetry and AI within the Dynatrace platform to deliver next‑generation observability.
Work hands‑on with Kubernetes and other cloud‑native technologies to validate and improve OpenTelemetry integrations.
Participate in design discussions, conduct and receive thoughtful code reviews, and help create documentation, examples, and guidance for the community and our customers.
Qualifications
Strong Go (Golang) experience building non‑trivial systems or components.
Practical experience with OpenTelemetry or the OpenTelemetry Collector (a strong advantage), as well as an active interest in Open Source (GitHub contributions are a plus).
Understanding of how metrics, traces, and logs are processed in distributed systems.
Curiosity and willingness to experiment with new AI‑powered tools and developer workflows and apply them pragmatically in a production environment (e.g. LLM‑based coding, testing, or troubleshooting workflows).
Comfortable with Kubernetes and the cloud‑native ecosystem.
Benefits
Relocation support to Dynatrace R&D Headquarters in Linz.
Compensation and Rewards
We offer attractive compensation packages and stock purchase options with numerous benefits and advantages.
The minimum salary for this position is €74,000 up to €92,000 gross per year based on full‑time employment (38.5 h/week).
