Head of Accounting – Fluent German & English
Location: Frankfurt (onsite, beside the airport)
Are you a skilled GL Accountant with strong German finance experience? Join a dynamic, international construction and engineering company specializing in large-scale industrial projects.
In this role, you’ll oversee all general ledger functions, tax filings, and intercompany reconciliations, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance. As Head of Accounting , you’ll also supervise an Accounts Assistant, making this a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the accounting function in a growing business.
Responsibilities:
- Handle daily bank reconciliations , VAT filings, and tax submissions under HGB.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee depreciation postings.
- Process payroll journals and prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage intercompany balances, recharges, and invoice processing within the group.
- Ensure ledger accuracy , resolving ageing and credit balances.
About You:
- 5+ years of experience in a similar GL Accounting role in Germany.
- Fluent in German and English (both written and spoken).
- Strong knowledge of HGB regulations and tax compliance .
- Proficient in ERP systems and Excel.
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff is a plus.
