What you are responsible for

• You serve as the primary point of contact for the leadership team, mentor other team members, and cultivate a culture of continuous learning.
• You support projects and initiatives, especially during the initial setup phase, collaborating with the team to develop suitable architecture, estimate efforts, and assign appropriate Data Engineers.
• You lead Data & AI projects closely with internal clients, ensuring high quality and stability through agile processes, peer code reviews, and increasing efficiency by implementing reusable data models, architecture templates, and shippable data products.
• You take ownership of technical evaluations of new candidates during hiring processes.
• You stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies related to data architecture and engineering, and evaluate new tools and methodologies to enhance data management and analysis capabilities.

What you are good at

• You have over 5 years of professional experience in data architecture or engineering roles, leading colleagues either functionally or disciplinarily, with a degree/PhD in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent significant work experience. You love mathematics and statistics.
• You possess extensive knowledge of Azure, AWS, and GCP cloud environments, architecture best practices, and tools relevant for machine learning / AI use cases, with hands-on experience in Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks like Terraform and/or ARM templates.
• You have proven experience with ETL processes, data extraction, transformation, and loading using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and/or Azure Synapse Analytics, along with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment best practices.
• You are knowledgeable about Machine Learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Azure ML, etc., including ML interpretability, with excellent programming skills in Python and SQL.
• You have excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of adjusting the level of detail to your audience, fluent in English and German.
• Knowledge of the energy industry is a plus.
