Responsible for the preparation and cooking of food according to USDA recipes or East Penn recipe cards for the daily menu and service areas. /ph3Qualifications /h3pPossesses a valid Pennsylvania driver's license at all times /ph3Education /h3pHigh school graduate or GED equivalent /ph3Experience /h3ulliExperience in school or institutional food service /liliExperience supervising others /li /ulh3Knowledge / Skills / Abilities /h3ulliAbility to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions /liliAbility to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos /liliIs able to independently read, write, speak and comprehend the English language /liliAbility to communicate courteously, efficiently and effectively with a variety of individuals, including students, staff, administrators, parents and representatives of outside organizations /liliAbility to work cooperatively and effectively with peers, supervisors, parents and outside agencies /liliDependability, punctuality and initiative are essential /liliGood personal hygiene /li /ulh3Essential Functions / Duties / Responsibilities /h3ulliFollow all HACCP and USDA food policies and regulations /liliKnowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to school food service /liliSupervise cashiers and food service support staff and assign duties /liliCook any food that is prepackaged or pre cooked for the service areas (burgers, pizza, hot dogs, etc.) /liliCoordinate production with service times so that food is held at proper temperatures to maintain quality /liliProperly merchandise and keep food stations stocked in an eye-appealing manner /liliKeep service and production lines neat and sanitary /liliResponsible for the training of new service staff, cashiers, prep area and dish room employees /liliAssist Coordinator in ordering of product for the service area and putting deliveries away /liliMaintain accurate and complete production records on a daily basis /liliMeet with Coordinator on a daily basis to express problems or concerns in your area /liliOther duties as assigned /li /ulh3Physical Requirements /h3ulliAbility to stand, bend, stoop, sit, lift, reach, communicate (vision, hearing, and speech), carry or convey sufficient weight to safely and effectively carry out functions, duties, and responsibilities /liliAbility to independently ambulate in and around school buildings and office areas /liliAbility to independently arrive at the designated work site and adhere to the established work schedule /liliCan stand/walk for lengthy periods of time /li /ulpbThis job description may be updated and/or altered at the sole discretion of the employer. /b /ppbTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function / duty / responsibility at acceptable standards as set by the employer.
