About the Role

We are seeking an entrepreneurial, visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with a Customer-Centric Business Development Focus (all genders) to join fino digital GmbH. As a key strategic pillar in our organization, you will harness bank account and transaction data---which mirrors the entire financial life of our customers---and help our partners utilize this data efficiently and profitably.

This role uniquely blends executive technology leadership with high-level customer engagement. You will act as a strategic sparring partner to our founder and management, driving our technological vision while actively leading C-level sales conversations and co-creating innovative data-driven business models across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership & Vision: Shape fino into a European pioneer for data-driven business models, defining how the financial industry works with data and translating emerging technologies into customer-centric products.
• Customer-Centric Business Development: Engage directly with C-level clients and decision-makers, articulating technological value, discovering new use cases, and turning them into viable revenue models.
• Technology Roadmap Ownership: Prioritize and direct the engineering and product roadmaps based on clear metrics, ensuring alignment with high-impact business outcomes.
• Architecture & Innovation: Oversee modern cloud architectures, API ecosystems, data analytics, and AI/ML stacks while adhering to strict banking security and regulatory frameworks.
• Executive Partnership: Collaborate closely with the CEO and management as a key strategic sparring partner to influence company-wide growth and international expansion.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

Must-Haves:

• Leadership Experience: 5 years of senior technical leadership experience in a CTO, VP of Engineering, or comparable role, ideally within the FinTech or banking sector.
• Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of modern cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP), REST/GraphQL APIs, data analytics, AI, and banking compliance/security requirements.
• Business & Sales Acumen: Proven ability to drive customer-facing business development, lead C-level discussions, and translate client needs into product concepts.
• Language Skills: Business-fluent command of both German and English (C1 level minimum); additional European languages are a strong advantage.
• Mindset: Entrepreneurial, visionary, hands-on, and data-driven with an ownership mentality.

• Open Banking / PSD2 expertise and hands-on bank interface integration experience.
• Established professional network within the European banking and FinTech ecosystem.
