ph3Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Adaptive optics for ultrafast laser-matter interaction /h3 h3Mission /h3 pWithin the faculty of engineering (STI), the Galatea Laboratory explores novel paradigms to tailor material properties locally using lasers. Our research involves three main clusters: understanding and exploring laser‑matter interaction phenomena, investigating new manufacturing processes based on 3D direct‑write laser methods, and finally, exploring novel concepts of multi‑scale systems based on a single monolith. The lab features state‑of‑the‑art laser facilities and infrastructure for pioneering research. /p pThe Galatea Lab is located in the vibrant Neuchâtel campus of EPFL, part of Microcity, a micro‑technology ecosystem. /p pTo strengthen our research program on laser‑based methods to tailor material properties, we are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to investigate advanced wavefront shaping methods based on adaptive optics applied to the context of nonlinear laser‑matter interaction. /p h3Main duties and responsibilities /h3 ul liDefine relevant research and experimental plans, sustained with theoretical considerations and knowledge of the relevant literature. /li liConduct experiments and analyze data. /li liReport and disseminate research outcomes in journal publications and at international conferences. /li liInteract and collaborate with other lab members as well as with industrial partners. /li liOccasionally supervise undergraduate students (bachelor or master levels). /li liContribute to laboratory operations through shared duties. /li /ul h3Profile /h3 ul liYou recently obtained a PhD in optics, applied physics or related fields with a strong knowledge of optics. /li liYou have experience in adaptive optics as well as hands‑on experience with optical setups involving lasers. /li liYou have a keen interest in research in the field of nonlinear optics, ultrafast lasers and/or laser‑matter interaction. /li liYou are independent, creative, solution‑oriented, flexible, and a team‑player. /li /ul h3We offer /h3 ul liOpportunity to contribute to cutting‑edge emerging research topics. /li liOpportunity to work in an established multidisciplinary lab in ultrafast laser‑matter interaction and advanced manufacturing processes, as well as optomechanical designs. /li liOpportunity to access state‑of‑the‑art research facilities and laboratory resources. /li liOpportunity to collaborate with world‑leading research groups through international collaborations. /li liOpportunity to interact with multidisciplinary projects with strong links to industry and spin‑offs. /li liEPFL is an international and top‑ranking university.
