Edenthorpe Search is supporting an international digital-assets and payments business in appointing a Chief Compliance Officer for its regulated European operation.
Please note: This role is based in Vaduz, however, the client will consider a candidate who is able to commute for a minimum of 3 days per week.
Reporting to senior management and with appropriate access to the Board, the Chief Compliance Officer will lead the company’s compliance framework and help ensure that its European activities meet the highest regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities: Own and develop the compliance monitoring programme Maintain policies covering AML, sanctions, market conduct and client protection Act as a principal contact for regulators, auditors and external advisers Oversee regulatory reporting, inspections and remediation programmes Assess new products, markets and commercial partnerships Lead transaction-monitoring, KYC and enhanced due-diligence standards Provide independent challenge and advice to senior management Develop a strong compliance culture throughout the organisation Candidates should have substantial compliance leadership experience within digital assets, fintech, banking, payments or regulated financial services.
Detailed knowledge of European crypto-asset regulation and AML requirements is essential.
The successful individual will combine technical expertise with sound judgement, independence and the confidence to engage with regulators and senior international stakeholders.
Experience working in Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Luxembourg or another European financial centre would be valuable.
German and English language skills are strongly preferred.
