Risk Business Analyst (Contract Role – Basel, 100%) Details: Start date: ASAP (latest 1 June 2025) End date: 31 March 2026 (extension possible) Location: Basel, Switzerland, 50% onsite, 20 days abroad working Workload: 100% Travel/on-call: Not required Are you passionate about risk management, data, and automation? Join a dynamic Risk Assessment and Operations team based in Basel, currently undergoing a digital transformation to enhance the way financial risk is assessed, monitored, and reported. We\’re looking for a skilled and motivated Risk Business Analyst to support the shift to smarter, more efficient processes. In this role, you\’ll work with Python and SQL to help automate controls, streamline reporting, and design impactful dashboards and risk solutions for stakeholders at all levels-from risk teams to senior leadership. What you\’ll do: Support the transformation of operational processes by automating manual tasks and boosting reporting efficiency. Help develop infrastructure for monitoring market, credit, and liquidity risks. Contribute to pricing and valuation process improvements and controls. Design reports and dashboards that provide clear, insightful risk data to various business levels. Collaborate with team members to improve and document processes and share knowledge. What we\’re looking for: A Master\’s degree (or equivalent) in a quantitative field (e.g. econometrics, mathematics, physics, IT). 3-5 years of relevant experience in risk management. Strong hands-on Python skills, especially in automation. Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and reporting. Solid understanding of financial markets and products across different risk types. A collaborative, proactive mindset with strong communication skills. Nice to have: Experience gathering business requirements and designing technical solutions. Strong numerical and analytical capabilities. Fluency in English; additional international languages are a plus.
