Senior Legal Counsel
Ego Pharmaceuticals is an Australia-owned skincare business specialising in the development,
manufacture and distribution of therapeutic and cosmetic skincare products. It is an iconic Australian
brand which has been operating since 1953. In addition to its Australia business, Ego Pharmaceuticals
exports to more than 25 countries and has eight sales and marketing offices outside of Australia.
All products are proudly manufactured in Melbourne.
Ego Pharmaceuticals is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join its Legal Department.
Reporting to General Counsel - Legal, the Senior Legal Counsel would be the strategic business partner
to the Australian and Asia-Pacific commercial businesses and operations of Ego Pharmaceuticals and
provide strategic and commercially-focussed legal advice to their internal stakeholders.
Senior Legal Counsel would be the Legal Department approver for all marketing material.
Senior Legal Counsel would manage external lawyers when specialist advice is required.
Senior Legal Counsel would ideally have between six and eight-years' experience of practicing
law either in private practice or a commercial in-house environment. Experience in manufacturing,
skincare or international trade are desirable but not critical. The successful candidate should be a
broad generalist and have knowledge / experience of a diverse area of law including contract,
corporate, disputes, regulatory, privacy and employment. To the extent that the candidate has
specific experience in Asia-Pacific, this would be desirable but not critical.
Senior Legal Counsel should be confident to work directly with key stakeholders through the business
of Ego Pharmaceuticals to deliver strategic and commercially-focussed legal advice. As such, stakeholder
management and relationship-building skills are critically important. Senior Legal Counsel should be able to
work independently and confidentiality navigate ambiguity. The capacity to influence without authority is highly
valued. The Ego Pharmaceuticals business is complex, so the successful candidate should be able to ask
relevant questions and develop a deep understanding of the business, its culture, strategy and the factors that
drive its success.
The role is based in Dandenong South (where General Counsel - Legal is situated) and/or Braeside.
Some travel may be involved to key locations of Ego Pharmaceuticals.
