D-ARCH is a leading research and teaching institution dedicated to the advancement of architectural design at the building, urban, landscape and territorial scales. Architectural design is fundamentally holistic in that it utilises a broad epistemological and technical apparatus to give shape to cultural, ecological, environmental, social and economic needs. And, by constitution, architectural design is concerned both with the analysis of the past and the making of the future at every scale, from the local to the global.
The position is at UCJ Share of Architecture and Attitude, Prof. Jan De Vylder. It is a fixed-term contract (one year, renewable) starting in mid-August or September 2026. The workload is 50%, with work primarily on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, plus a few additional hours on other weekdays.
Responsibilities
Contribute with your technical and architectural expertise
Prepare and process teaching and research materials
Assist with and be part of the chair's projects
Work independently on side projects led by the chair (eg. publications, symposium organization, seminar week..)
Introduce exercises, support and guide students as they develop their projects
Qualifications
Architect with 2 + years of experience
Structured, reliable and able to work independently within a small team
Good communication skills in English and German
Preferably running or starting your own practice
