About the role
This is an exciting, newly created role which will play an important part in the growing Swedish IP team. We are looking for an experienced patent attorney with engineering background. The successful candidate will have between 3 and 5 years of experience working within a well-established IP legal team.
In this role, you will be providing the firm and its clients with high quality, technical legal support relating to patents. The cases undertaken are highly complex and often of a pan-European nature. Although the successful individual will work closely with the Swedish Partners and the wider Swedish organisation, there will also be opportunities to work with colleagues on matters based in the United Kingdom. There will also be opportunities to work on large patent projects working closely with and in support of EIP’s impressive litigation function.
Following the opening of our first Nordic office in 2022, we are continuing to grow our Swedish presence and cross-border capabilities. This is an exciting time to join the team at a time when we are expanding.
We are seeking candidates to be situated in our Stockholm office or in Malmö/Lund.
Experience, skills & qualifications
You will be comfortable working in a modern, fast-paced environment where you are given a level of autonomy to do your work. Successful candidates will also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Excellent academics
- An appropriate professional attitude (personable, well prepared, flexible and enthusiastic)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to express complex ideas clearly and concisely, and the ability to structure a precise and coherent argument
- Ability to deal with a variety of people at different levels
- Ability to balance knowledge of intellectual property law against commercial requirements
- Ability to work under pressure, which may be the result of competing and inflexible deadlines when working for more than one client at the same time
- Excellent research and presentation skills
- Meticulous attention to detail, and an analytical mind
- Initiative and the ability to act independently and manage own workload
Equal opportunities
EIP is an equal opportunities employer that values diversity and welcomes applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, religious practice or any other perceived differences.
