Overview
In this role, you will own the data architecture for client engagements and shape target designs and guardrails. You collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to ensure high-quality, consistent implementations, while supporting pre-sales with technical inputs and proposals. You will lead architecture workshops, define end-to-end data architectures, and govern data models, integrations, and security requirements. A hands-on approach ensures delivery quality and stakeholder alignment as you help drive transformative data, analytics and AI solutions.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Own data architecture in client engagements and translate requirements into implementable designs
- Define target and reference data architectures across ingestion, storage, processing and serving
- Create conceptual, logical and physical data models aligned with business domains
- Define data integration and access patterns (batch, streaming, event-driven, APIs, semantic models)
- Maintain architecture artefacts (data flow diagrams, architecture decision records)
- Incorporate security, privacy, data classification, access models, encryption and key management into designs
- Stay hands-on to validate designs and unblock delivery in critical phases
- Build trusted relationships with customers and understand their needs
- Present architectural concepts to IT decision makers and align stakeholders on trade-offs
- Contribute to knowledge sharing within the Data & AI unit
- Support pre-sales by delivering technical presentations, architecture vision, options, risks, and effort estimates for proposals/SOW
- Provide technical guidance and coaching to junior colleagues (no people management)
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Degree at university level
- 8+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in data architecture and solution design for data, analytics and AI platforms
- Proven experience owning target data architecture and translating requirements into designs and guardrails
- Deep platform expertise in one of Microsoft Azure, AWS or Databricks, with project experience on the other two
- Strong experience with data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical), integration patterns (batch, streaming, event driven), data access patterns (APIs, semantic models), and architectural governance (ADRs, reference architectures)
- Understanding of non-functional requirements (security, compliance, reliability, performance, cost) and their incorporation into architecture decisions
- Relevant architecture and/or cloud certifications
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to engage engineering teams and senior stakeholders
- Confident presenting concepts to customers and facilitating alignment
- Fluent in German & English (C1); French is an advantage
