You are a hybrid Project Manager / Senior Application Engineer who owns customer projects end-to-end—from PoC to installation, commissioning, and acceptance. You’ll plan, coordinate, and track cross-functional work, organize and structure the Application Team, while contributing hands‑on to simulations, path planning, bring‑up, testing, and customer enablement.

Location: Germany, Munich area (or willing to relocate) – hybrid with regular on‑site customer visits

Travel: 40-60% (DACH/EU), depending on project phase

Responsibilities

• Project Ownership & Structure: Build a clear plan and structured delivery framework (scope, WBS, schedule, risks, RAID log, quality gates) from PoC to FAT/SAT and final acceptance.
• Organize & Guide Engineers: Allocate tasks, set priorities, run stand‑ups, and provide methodical guidance; unblock issues and ensure consistent execution—while personally delivering key technical work.
• Customer Management: Act as single point of contact; capture requirements, define acceptance criteria/DoD, manage changes, and provide crisp status, decisions, and next steps.
• POCs & Simulations: Design structured PoC plans with measurable outcomes; model cells, validate cycle time, run collision checks; iterate quickly to de‑risk.
• Installation & Commissioning: Lead on‑site bring‑up (paths, calibration, safety); execute documented test plans/MSA, collect evidence, and secure sign‑off.
• Quality & Testing: Define verification strategy (unit/integration/functional/on‑site), track defects/escapes, and coordinate hotfixes with Dev/Hotline.
• Documentation & Training: Produce concise, well‑structured reports (KPIs, risks, results, media), operator docs, training, and service handover packs.
• Continuous Improvement: Standardize templates, checklists, SOPs, and lessons learned; grow a reusable library (simulations, test scripts, report blocks).
• Success metrics: On‑time/on‑budget delivery, POC conversion, first‑time‑right acceptance, defect escape rate, CSAT/NPS, and reuse of standards/assets.

Requirements

• Experience: 5–8+ years delivering industrial automation/robotics/metrology projects, including customer‑facing ownership.
• Structured Working Style: Demonstrated ability to bring structure to ambiguity—create WBS, milestones, checklists, and clear owner/ETA for every task; maintain RAID logs and decision records.
• Leadership: Proven capability to organize, coordinate, and guide cross‑functional engineers on projects (without heavy line management), provide methodical direction, and uphold standards.
• Technical Depth: Installation & commissioning of robots/cobots, sensors, PLCs, motion/kinematics, safety; strong with digital twin/simulation and collision checks.
• Project Management: Scheduling/critical path, risk & change control, stakeholder comms; comfortable with agile cadences and classic gates (FAT/SAT).
• Communication: Clear and concise with shopfloor and management; excellent German & English; strong written reporting with evidence.
• Nice to Have: Metrology & MSA, automotive/VDA, scripting (e.g., Python) for automation/reporting; familiarity with inline analysis & distributed tools.
• Location: Based in Germany; Munich area (or willing to relocate).
