The Brand Standards Manager / Brand Governance Director / Brand Standards Lead protects and strengthens brand consistency across customer touchpoints, markets, channels, and internal teams. This role establishes clear standards for brand identity, messaging, visual expression, and customer experience so that the brand is represented accurately and consistently.
The position develops brand guidelines, governance frameworks, approval processes, and training resources for marketing, product, sales, digital, communications, and external agency teams. It reviews creative assets, campaigns, content, packaging, presentations, and digital experiences to ensure they meet brand requirements while supporting business and market needs.
The role monitors brand compliance, identifies areas of inconsistency, and recommends improvements to standards and adoption processes. It works with stakeholders to resolve brand issues, manage exceptions, maintain brand assets, and ensure evolving brand strategy is implemented effectively across the organisation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Brand Management, Communications, Design, Business, or a related field.
- Experience in brand management, brand governance, creative operations, marketing communications, design management, or brand compliance.
- Strong understanding of brand identity, visual systems, tone of voice, messaging frameworks, and customer-experience consistency.
- Experience developing, maintaining, or implementing brand guidelines, standards, playbooks, and governance processes.
- Ability to review creative, marketing, digital, product, and communication materials for alignment with brand requirements.
- Experience managing approval workflows, brand audits, quality checks, and stakeholder feedback processes.
- Strong understanding of brand architecture, naming conventions, campaign identity, visual hierarchy, and content standards.
- Ability to translate brand strategy into practical guidance for marketing, sales, product, agency, and regional teams.
- Experience coordinating with designers, creative agencies, content teams, and production partners.
- Familiarity with digital-asset-management systems, brand portals, design tools, content-management systems, and collaboration platforms.
- Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder-management, and training skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, reviews, deadlines, brand requests, and competing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgement, organisation, and ability to balance consistency with business needs.
- Experience supporting global brands, multi-market governance, brand refreshes, rebrands, or regulated communications is an advantage.
