For additional details, please see the attached master agreement. /b /p h3Job Summary /h3 ul liLearn and adhere to established policies and procedures of the School District and Special Education Department to ensure that School District standards are enforced. /li liLearn and adhere to ethical standards of the profession and seek to develop professionally to ensure educational standards are enforced. /li liMaintain appropriate communication with the VI program supervisor and district staff. /li liAdhere to the work schedule created with VI program supervisor and district staff. /li liWork with individual students or small groups in accordance with plans developed by the VI staff. /li liAssist the VI and district staff with accommodations, modifications and supplemental services necessary for educational needs of students with visual impairment. /li liKeep the instructional staff (VI, OM, and others) informed of any special needs or problems of individual students. /li liAssist the teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays according to VI program procedures. /li liTranscribe materials including books, workbooks, testing material, and classroom work for students with visual impairments into accessible tactile, auditory, and/or print formats, including tactile maps and graphs. /li liUse a variety of techniques to make print, auditory, and/or tactile materials and graphics as directed by VI professionals. /li liMaintain accurate records of all transcriptions. /li liManage time to ensure that materials are available when needed by VI professionals or other team members. /li liRemain current in computer technology as it relates to accessible material production and interfacing with the student's assistive technology. /li liProvide technological assistance and/or training to teaching staff or other appropriate personnel according to VI program procedures. /li liAssist in inventory, ordering, care, and maintenance of equipment and electronic materials, including assistive technology, required for students and staff, according to VI program procedures. /li liAssist in the maintenance of confidentiality of student records. /li liProvide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers. /li liAttend appropriate, approved staff development training and VI staff meetings. /li liOther job related duties as assigned. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liHigh school degree, GED, or equivalent experience. Two year or four year degree preferred. /li li3-5 years experience working with braille, or orientation and mobility and students with visual impairments. /li liBVI program completion or enrollment in program required. /li liMust have completed the UEB Online: Literacy Module 1 or be enrolled in the program /li liMust have completed the NLS UEB Braille Certification Program or be enrolled in the program /li liAbility to work effectively with parents, students, and other staff /li liAbility to follow directions and on occasion, work independently. /li liDemonstrated organizational skills. /li liDemonstrated verbal and written communication skills. /li liCompletes job duties in a timely manner. /li liWillingness to begin or continue to participate in development opportunities, including those designed to acquire currently used braille and tactile transcription skills. /li liWillingness to travel between school buildings as assigned. /li liAdditional qualifications may be established according to needs of the program. /li /ul h3Application Procedure /h3 pApply online /p pbStudies have shown that some people are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they meet every one of the qualifications as described in a job description.
