Elusav Recruitment have a exciting opportunity for a Production Control Manager to join one of Ireland & Europe's leading Engineering contractors, based in Frankfut, Germany.
The Production Control Manager will bridge the gap between Site Management & Project/Planning Management, maximising efficiency and driving Lean methodology on site. Experience with VisiLean or other collaborative planning tools would be an advantage. Please see job spect attached for your review.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate long and short-interval planning and maintain Visilean look-aheads (8WLA/4WLA/2WLA/Weekly Work Plans), ensuring trade commitments are captured and visible.
- Coordinate multiple trades (CSA, MEP, FP, fit-out) across zones for visibility only; discipline construction managers own readiness and hand-offs.
- Maintain a live constraints log: capture blockers (materials, design info, permits, access, EHS holds) and track owners/dates; escalates unresolved items to the Construction Manager.
- Facilitate Lean planning sessions (pull-planning sessions, weekly coordination meetings, daily huddles); record Percent Plan Complete (PPC) and reasons-for-variance.
- Reconcile short-term look-aheads to the master schedule; highlight slippage and propose options for CM review; reflect CM-approved actions in Visilean.
- Integrate digital delivery: update Visilean boards and the Common Data Environment (CDE); issue dashboards for progress, constraints aging, and plan adherence.
- Track procurement and logistics for visibility: monitor submittals, fabrication status, long-lead deliveries, and site logistics plans; approval remains with CM.
- Interface with BIM coordination: flag trade clashes impacting production; align field sequencing with model-based coordination outputs for visibility only.
- Report weekly or as per agreement to the Construction Manager and Package Leads: provide status of look-aheads, PPC, major risks, and mitigation actions; escalates unresolved constraints.
- Support commissioning readiness visibility: sequence turnover areas and ensure CSA/MEP prerequisites are tracked; discipline managers and CM own readiness decisions.
- Lean Construction & Last Planner System (LPS): facilitate collaborative planning, reliable commitments, and continuous improvement on site.
- Short-interval management: daily updates to look-ahead plans; proactive removal of roadblocks identified in foreman huddles; visible boards posted for teams.
Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, or related field.
- 3–5 years’ site-based experience in Production controls/planning or coordination on large construction projects.
- Hands-on experience with lean construction practices and short-interval planning (Last Planner System).
- Proficiency with Visilean or similar planning tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, takt planning tools) and strong Excel/Power BI skills for dashboards.
- Solid understanding of construction sequences, trade interfaces, and constraint management.
- Clear communication and facilitation skills with subcontractors and site leadership; ability to drive alignment and resolve conflicts without owning schedule decisions.
