(Senior) Consultant – Technical Accounting
Location: Germany (Flexible - Hybrid or Remote with occasional client travel)
Are you an experienced accounting professional looking to work on complex, high-impact finance transformation projects? Join a growing consulting team supporting leading international organisations through technical accounting challenges, business transformation, and strategic finance initiatives.
What You'll Do:
As a Senior Consultant, you'll work closely with clients across a variety of industries, helping them navigate complex accounting and finance projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting finance transformation initiatives, including IFRS/US GAAP conversions, IPO readiness, ERP implementations, acquisitions, and other special projects.
- Managing financial accounting activities under German GAAP (HGB), with exposure to IFRS and US GAAP where applicable.
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Performing technical accounting assessments and ensuring accurate classification and posting of business transactions.
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, systems, and organisational structures.
- Contributing to projects such as digital accounting frameworks, chart of accounts optimisation, and finance operating model improvements.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams while working remotely, from the office, or occasionally on-site with clients.
What We're Looking For:
- A degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline, or equivalent commercial training.
- Several years of experience in financial reporting under HGB, with IFRS and/or US GAAP knowledge highly desirable.
- Experience preparing financial statements, ideally including exposure to consolidated reporting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting systems or ERP platforms.
- A passion for improving finance processes and leveraging technology.
- Excellent communication skills in both German and English.
- A collaborative, client-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
