Basic Offshore Wind Turbine Job Description
We are hiring Basic Offshore Wind Turbine Technicians to perform service and maintenance on offshore wind turbines (WTGs) and Balance of Plant (BoP) at DanTysk and Sandbank.
The Basic Offshore Wind Turbine Technicians will conduct maintenance and repairs on wind turbines and their foundations under supervision of an experienced team lead.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting annual WTG maintenance services (e.g., measuring, testing, sampling, visual inspections, routine replacements, cleaning, bolt tightening).
- Performing un-routine corrective actions (i.e., replacements) for both basic and complex components.
- Conducting minor upgrades or updates (i.e., retrofits).
- Reporting findings that require corrective actions (immediate or foreseeable).
- Conducting annual foundation maintenance services.
- Conducting visual inspections of TP-MP flange bolts.
- Addressing un-routine replacements or repairs (e.g., replacing missing bolts, or spot repair of coating).
- Performing general repair jobs according to internal instructions and documentation.
Designated Work Locations
The work locations include the DanTysk and Sandbank Windfarms with two base ports for technician departure and return:
- Nordenham for SOV-based activities.
- Esbjerg (DK) for Offshore Accommodation Platform-based activities.
The port in Nordenham may change to another German North Sea port.
Key Requirements
- Proven education or experience in technical, electrical, or mechanical work.
- A minimum of one year of experience in the Offshore Wind Industry, preferably as a Service Technician or comparable role.
- A strong focus on safety and a willingness to learn and develop in an experienced team.
- Availability to work shifts and offshore (14 days shift).
- Good English skills (German is a plus).
- Experience as a crane operator or training for offshore crane operation is advantageous.
Other Details
The Basic Offshore Wind Turbine Technicians must comply with internal HSE training requirements, including GWO Basic Safety and Technical Training. Safety must always be prioritized to protect yourself and your team.
