Job Purpose

This position serves as the Strategic Financial Business Partner for a specific business or functional area such as a Product Segment or Operations area.

The partner collaborates with the area’s leadership to develop strategies and execution plans to achieve goals, ensuring financial rigor is consistently applied to business management.

The role supports the Finance functions within the assigned area and works with Corporate Finance to maintain a strong performance management discipline.

This role is the finance business partner for the Wealth Segment Leader and a sophisticated organization that leads Tru Stage’s multi‑billion Wealth Segment.

The segment primarily consists of Annuity, Pension Risk Transfer, and Retirement Products.

  • Job Responsibilities
  • Serve as a key member of the assigned area Leadership Team, actively participating in strategic and tactical planning with a financial perspective.
  • Work with business leaders and potential external partners to identify, plan, and execute strategic profit improvement tactics.
  • Provide financial and strategic support in product development/exit strategy, mergers and acquisitions, incubator and transformational efforts including outsourcing tactics.
  • Partner with the Finance organization to ensure a strong performance management discipline and collaborate with other Finance functions for consistent and effective decision making.
  • Lead or coordinate cross‑functional team meetings to facilitate information sharing, manage customer expectations, and ensure a single voice of finance.
  • Build and lead staff to support and drive departmental and corporate goals and strategy.
  • Develop staff capabilities and cultivate talent for future advancement.
  • Ensure critical success factors are clearly identified, quantified, and integrated into actionable strategic and tactical plans that support financial forecasts.
  • Identify the need for and direct the development and maintenance of business and financial models and reports that support leaders in improving, planning, and making decisions.
  • Facilitate the business management process, focusing on meeting current business and financial expectations and driving problem‑solving regarding performance variances.
  • Design or support programs to strengthen financial literacy within the assigned area.
  • Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a Financial Discipline.

A Master’s in Business Administration or other business‑related education is a preferred indicator of strong business management skills.

  • Professional designations such as CPA, CMA, CLU, Ch FC, CCUE, or FSA indicating competency in financial and insurance related areas.
  • 4–5 years of experience leading teams or providing direction to other resources.
  • 3–5 years of experience providing executive consultation and influencing business decisions.
  • 12+ years of work experience in financial management with managerial responsibility for functional activities in the financial services industry, including sales and revenue models, company financials, product pricing and profitability models, and performance measures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated leadership and the ability to achieve positive results through influence, persuasion, and presentation facilitation.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior annuity experience.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $128,500.00 – $239,000.00

In addition to your base pay, your position may be eligible for an annual incentive (bonus) plan.
