Significance, Inc is seeking an experienced Senior Developer to join our growing team. This position is remote and will require a Public Trust clearance.

The Senior AWS Developer will design, build, and maintain a secure and scalable cloud-based integration layer. This role is critical in enabling real-time and event-driven data exchange across enterprise systems.

Required Skills:

• Design and implement RESTful APIs using Amazon API Gateway and backend services such as AWS Lambda and EC2
• Build and manage cloud-native data solutions using Amazon RDS, ensuring data integrity and reliability
• Develop event-driven architectures using Amazon S3, SQS, and SNS for asynchronous and file-based processing
• Implement security best practices, including:
  • IAM roles and policies
  • VPC configuration
  • Data encryption (at rest and in transit)
  • Logging and audit controls
  • Ensure compliance with ATO (Authority to Operate) requirements
• Collaborate with internal teams and external system owners to define:
  • Integration patterns
  • API contracts
  • Deployment strategies
• Automate infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform
• Monitor system performance and optimize for cost, scalability, and availability
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and governance standards

Desired Skills:

• 15+ years of software development experience, with strong focus on AWS
• Hands-on experience with:
  • API Gateway, Lambda, EC2
  • RDS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle)
  • S3, SQS, SNS
• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture and integration patterns
• Experience implementing secure, compliant systems (ATO/FedRAMP preferred)
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code
• Strong understanding of networking (VPCs, subnets, security groups)
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch)

Our pay ranges are based on the local cost of labor benchmarks for each specific role, level, and geographic location. We carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including but not limited to experience; job-related skill sets; relevant education or training; and other business and organizational needs. The salary range listed is for the level at which this job has been scoped. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply.
