Your role

Your role will be working with the Head of Science Education and Public Engagement (SEPE) to assess the current status of public engagement at EMBL and to identify the key areas of focus to support, encourage and enable colleagues across EMBL to participate in and value engagement with public groups.

You have

  • Educated to first degree level
  • A minimum of two years work experience in the field of engagement
  • A demonstrable interest in promoting public engagement
  • Experience of creating communication campaigns and relevant content
  • Experience of developing/delivering training within organisations
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of working as part of a team in an international setting
  • Active listening and facilitation skills
  • Proven track record of strong attention to detail and excellent prioritisation and time management skills
  • Competency with IT programmes, including the Microsoft Office suite
  • Fluent in English

You may also have

  • Experience of public dialogue/PPIE
  • Previous relevant work experience in an international organisation as part of a multi-national team
  • Additional language skills
