Procurement Manager
on behalf of a leading global
consumer goods
(FMCG) brand. Based at their
strategic sourcing hub
in
Zug , Switzerland, this senior leadership position owns a high-spend portfolio (~$600M annual spend) focused on specialized raw materials, commodities, and chemical ingredients.
Due to the footprint of the global supply chain, this position requires a professional comfortable with flexible working hours to effectively collaborate with North American-based teams and partners. Reporting to the Director of Sourcing, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, translating complex market intelligence into actionable buying strategies while mitigating commodity risk and leading a team of 1–2 associates over time.
Key Responsibilities
Commodity Strategy & Risk Management:
Own and execute complex commodity buying strategies, utilizing index-based pricing and volume leverage to optimize cost outcomes and protect enterprise margins.
Market Intelligence
Translate global commodity market data into clear buy, hold, or defer recommendations to mitigate cost volatility.
High-Leverage Negotiations:
Lead multi-year commercial negotiations involving intricate pricing mechanisms, capacity commitments, and risk-sharing, even within supplier-constrained markets.
End-to-End Category Execution:
Drive the full category sourcing lifecycle, including RFx execution, contract implementation, value engineering initiatives, and global footprint optimization.
Talent Leadership:
Manage, coach, and develop a team of direct reports, overseeing performance objectives and individual development plans.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience:
10+ years of progressive experience in Strategic Sourcing, Commodity Management, or Procurement, with documented ownership of high-spend categories.
Commodity Expertise:
Crucial, proven expertise in commodity buying strategies, market timing, index-linked pricing, and margin protection.
Category Knowledge:
Direct experience sourcing specialized ingredients, chemical formulations, aroma chemicals, or fragrance components, including an understanding of regulatory and IP considerations.
Global Supply Chain:
Proven experience working in a global sourcing environment, specifically managing a North American vendor base.
Industry Background:
Direct experience within a fast-paced manufacturing or consumer goods environment.
