Emerson Test & Measurement (T&M) enables fast and cost-effective design, validation, and test of innovative semiconductor, wireless prototyping, and electronics as a best-in-class test and measurement company. Within Product R&D, inside the RF Products Division, we build complex and innovative RF Test and Measurement products, including our exciting Software Defined Radio (SDR) platform.


To accelerate our Test & Measurement growth, the RF Division is looking for a Director (m/f/d), Software Defined Radio Delivery Lead to lead multiple product development teams across the world. The role requires exceptional leadership to lead a team of senior engineers while coordinating across Discipline Leads, Product Managers, and Project Managers. The primary focus will be to drive roadmap execution excellence across a set of SDR investments to meet our customers’ evolving needs and serve a fast-paced, growing market.

Delivery Leads are responsible forensuring that products, projects, or programs are delivered successfully on time, within scope, and with the required quality.

In addition, Delivery Leads are responsible for product health, continuous improvement, innovation programs, and customer escalations.

Delivery Leads ultimately sit at the intersection of execution, coordination, and stakeholder management, and act as the glue between business, engineering, and operations. This is a significant set of responsibilities, and Delivery Leads must have the structure and support in place to empower a relentless focus on delivering our commitments and maximizing business value.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Drive process and product innovation while delivering on the business mission for RF based, SDR products and acting as the subject matter expert for project and program execution, priority, and status across new product development.
  • Establish the SDR roadmap, execution strategy and priority.
  • Influence without authority by establishing high trust relationships with cross-functional stakeholders (manufacturing, marketing, services, System R&D).
  • Accelerates product development across broad areas that encompasses multiple engineering disciplines like software, digital, RF, and mechanical by identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Communicates regularly with executive leadership and strategic customers on product development status.
  • Responds to market trends by working closely with product management and product architects to curate process development and product roadmaps.
  • Create KPIs to measure and to track overall new product development efficiency. Influence product R&D to take immediate action based on KPIs.
  • Advise executives and R&D leadership on resource and schedule tradeoff decisions for complex products and systems.
  • Work with Manufacturing, Supply Chain and other Operations functions to ensure portfolio health and deliver products to meet customer needs.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in the Test and Measurement or related electronics industries.
  • Deep technical knowledge of a particular wireless communication and electronics test market segment or application.
  • Broad experience across Mixed-Signal, RF, wireless communication, and aerospace test applications.
  • Proven ability to lead, to manage and to develop senior technical talent.
  • Strong understanding of wireless communications, semiconductor, aerospace, and electronics production and validation test markets.
  • Experience in working with dynamic cultures & countries, as part of a global organization
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills required.
  • Travel: This role is expected to travel internationally with 5% travel expectations.
