We are supporting a large international engineering and construction contractor with the delivery of a major data-centre project in Cologne.
They are looking for a CSA Engineer to join the site team and support the delivery of the civil, structural and architectural works. This is a site-based position suited to someone who is comfortable managing subcontractors, resolving construction issues and taking responsibility for packages through to completion.
You will work closely with the CSA Project Manager, Construction Manager, design consultants, subcontractors and MEP teams. Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating civil, structural and architectural works on site
- Managing subcontractors and monitoring daily progress
- Reviewing construction drawings, specifications and technical submissions
- Supporting the delivery of groundworks, concrete, structural steel, roofing, cladding and internal finishes
- Identifying design or coordination issues and managing RFIs through to resolution
- Coordinating CSA activities with mechanical and electrical installation teams
- Monitoring works against the construction programme and agreed milestones
- Carrying out site inspections and maintaining the required quality records
- Managing snagging, close-out documentation and handover activities
- Ensuring works are completed safely and in line with the project quality requirements
Your experience
- A qualification in civil engineering, structural engineering, construction management or a related discipline
- Previous experience working for a main contractor on a large construction project
- A good understanding of CSA construction packages and site delivery
- Confident reading construction drawings and technical specifications
- Strong subcontractor and site coordination skills
- Data-centre experience would be valuable, although candidates from pharmaceutical, semiconductor, industrial or other technically complex projects will also be considered
- Fluent English is required; German would be an advantage
- Able to work on site in Cologne
