  • Ammunition Maintenance, Assembly & Renovation: Performs repetitive maintenance, modification, and assembly/disassembly of ammunition and explosive items under QA guidance; operates preset pneumatic and electric equipment; cuts stencils, applies paint/markings, removes rust/corrosion, and performs preventive machinery maintenance.
  • Receipt, Storage, Care & Shipping: Executes receiving, classifying, storing, and issuing of all conventional ammunition types; reconciles physical stock with documentation; signs for incoming supplies; inspects items for damage; and ensures proper binning, labeling, and magazine placement.
  • Demilitarization & Explosives Destruction: Destroys unserviceable munitions and hazardous materials by open detonation or furnace burning; sets road closures and isolates hazard areas; prepares blast pits and deactivation furnaces; places initiating explosives and safety fuses; and conducts post-demolition sweeps to verify complete destruction.
  • Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Operation: Safely operates licensed MHE with capacities under 10,000 lbs—including electric, gas, and diesel forklifts, warehouse tractors with trailers, side shifters, and stock selectors—and performs required operator preventive maintenance.
  • Physical Loading, Unloading & Cargo Securement: Executes physical material handling to load and unload ammunition from trucks and rail cars; performs palletizing, stacking, and cargo securement (blocking and bracing) utilizing tools such as pneumatic nailers, chain saws, banding machines, and roller conveyors.
  • Warehouse Support, Stock Audits & Recordkeeping: Conducts warehouse labor including moving, sorting, repacking, and inspecting stocks for signs of deterioration; assists with physical counts against source records; and updates magazine data cards and supply summary sheets to ensure tracking accuracy.

No specific education required. Applicant must be able to perform the duties of the position after technical on-the-job training.

German driver's license class B required.

Forklift operator license desired.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY LEVEL:

English Language Proficiency level A1 AND German Language Proficiency level C1 required.

This is a temporary full-time position (38.5 hrs /week) until return of permanent incumbent, not to exceed 30 September 2027.

If requirement exists, the incumbent of this position is obligated to perform TDY within and outside Germany, shift work, weekend and holiday work.

Employee must be able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
