In this newly created role as the Procurement Manager of a values-driven not-for-profit organisation, you will work closely with the General Manager – Facility Support Services, driving the ongoing development and strategic direction of mecwacare’s procurement functions. This encompasses contracts, procurement, the Distribution Centre, insurance, and fleet management. In this key leadership role, you will provide comprehensive end-to-end strategic and operational advice to the Executive Leadership Team, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. We are seeking a proactive leader to manage and enhance commercial relationships with both internal stakeholders and suppliers, delivering sustainable and impactful outcomes.
About the Opportunity:
- Provide high-level strategic and policy advice to support procurement and fleet management at mecwacare.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, statutory, and procurement obligations, including Modern Slavery requirements.
- Oversee contractors, suppliers, and Service Agreements to establish cost-effective, efficient, and timely purchasing arrangements.
- Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders to achieve optimal procurement and contract management outcomes.
- Ensure transparency, probity, and compliance in all contractor and supplier relationships.
- Manage tenders for goods and services and benchmark pricing and performance of providers.
- Ensure the mecwacare fleet is compliant, fit for purpose, and maintained within budget and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct annual insurance reviews to ensure adequate coverage for organisational risk.
- Provide strategic reports, data analysis, and risk assessments to the General Manager for informed decision-making.
- Manage procurement budgets and develop teams to support project planning, problem-solving, and completion.

- Proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered within scope, on time, and within budget.
- Advanced skills in financial acumen, IT systems literacy, problem-solving, and risk management.
- You will be an active communicator with interpersonal skills enabling effective stakeholder engagement.
- Comprehensive understanding of legislation, compliance requirements, and best practices in governance.
- Commitment to fostering continuous improvement across processes and systems.
- Possession of or working towards a tertiary qualification in management, Project Management, or Business, with a focus on Project Management expertise is desirable
