Design Engineer Overview Our client, a specialist in high voltage grid infrastructure, is expanding into the German market, and is looking for a Design Engineer to join the team as part of that build out.

This is a chance to get in early on a growing operation, working across projects ranging from LV through to 110k V, with the potential to work up to 380k V.

You will work as part of a team reviewing Transmission System Operator (TSO) requirements and compiling adoptable and private designs for grid connections.

You will also support the conceptual design of energy projects, principally solar farms and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

The Opportunity This role sits at the heart of Germany's grid connection and power systems space, one of the most talent short disciplines in the current energy transition.

You will be involved in projects spanning generation and storage, working directly with TSOs, and helping shape how the business delivers designs as it establishes itself in a new market.

The role is remote, based in Germany, with occasional in-person days in Berlin (approximately once a month).

You will report directly to the Country Director.

Responsibilities Work as part of a team across multiple projects simultaneously Manage the design of grid connection and private network infrastructure from LV up to and including 110-380k VMinimise M&E construction expenditure wherever possible Maintain and develop technical competence to ensure delivery to a high standard Keep up to date with the company's Health & Safety policy and procedures Manage design sub-contractors where required Support the design process on complex projects Maintain clear, professional communication with clients, colleagues and other stakeholders Operations Attend site visits with the construction team where required, to support smooth design delivery.

Support the operations team with site level queries that impact design.

Arrange design review meetings with the operations team to ensure practical buildability.

Support project delivery through regular programme of works updates with Project Managers.

Ensure construction designs are produced in good time to support site activities and mobilisation Commercial Support procurement activities to ensure correct specification of equipment.

Ensure contract milestones are met throughout the design process.

Required Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.2-3 years' experience in an engineering contracting or consulting business.

Auto CAD Website experience, including work with TSOs.

Fluent German, C1 to native level.

Working knowledge of VDE, IEC, IEEE and CENELEC standards.

Full EU driving licence.

Experience managing drawing registers and design submissions to TSOs/clients.

Strong numeracy and advanced MS Office skills, including Project.

Excellent attention to detail Preferred Experience Google Earth experience.

Power system modelling.

Master's degree in Power.

Ability to create a design delivery programme.

Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.

Experience using Procore document management tools.
