Network Operations Service Manager (m/f/d)

RheinNetz GmbH is a regional grid operator serving the Rhineland region. RheinNetz operates, plans, and builds distribution networks for electricity and natural gas. On behalf of energy suppliers, we transport electricity and natural gas to industrial, commercial, and residential customers connected to the networks. Our company handles functions such as technical grid services, customer service, metering, revenue and cost management, regulatory management and grid access, grid planning, and asset management.
As an employer, we offer varied and responsible roles, performance-based compensation, and excellent benefits. Our employees work in an attractive professional environment with opportunities for individual development, a modern corporate culture, and flexible, hybrid work models that include remote work.

Your responsibilities

  • Responsibilities
  • Processing market partner notifications regarding the reduction of statutory levies and grid fees falls within your area of responsibility. In doing so, you maintain master data and coordinate necessary corrections closely with the billing department
  • In contract management, you will oversee supplier framework agreements, metering point operator framework agreements, and agreements on individual grid fees, and serve as the central point of contact for market partners
  • By implementing quality assurance measures, you ensure that billing complies with legal and contractual requirements. This includes, among other things, verifying statutory surcharges, concession fees, and municipal discounts, as well as billing for energy procurement for operational consumption and gas preheating
  • For audits, you will actively support the process by creating and tracking schedules and status reports, providing necessary samples, and collaborating with auditors. Additionally, you will contribute to final reports and ensure comprehensive documentation
  • Commercial tasks related to network operations also fall within your area of responsibility. These include reviewing, approving, organizing, and archiving invoices; conducting account reconciliations with the finance department; and preparing documents for annual financial statements and audits
  • You reliably ensure compliance with legal and regulatory disclosure requirements
  • Profile
  • You have completed a bachelor’s degree in engineering or business administration or hold a comparable qualification
  • You also have several years of professional experience—ideally in the energy sector
  • You have a comprehensive understanding of how the liberalized electricity and gas markets operate, as well as knowledge of the business processes of a network operator
  • You are distinguished by excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365 and proficiency in SAP IS-U and Business Warehouse (BW)
  • You impress with strong analytical skills and a quick grasp of new concepts
  • This position is classified in pay grade 10 under the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Public Utilities (TV-V). For a full-time position, this corresponds to a gross annual salary of approximately 63,000–81,000 euros (depending on professional experience and qualifications).
  • In addition to the standard salary, our employees receive numerous special benefits, such as additional variable compensation—dependent on company performance—in the form of bonuses and incentives, as well as a company pension plan equivalent to 8.7% of the respective gross annual salary. Our company places great importance on adhering to high safety standards to comprehensively ensure the protection of our employees.
  • We continue to grow together! People come first for us. From performance reviews to a wide range of professional development opportunities, we support our employees throughout their careers.
  • Health benefits: Sports & wellness programs, subsidized membership in the Urban Sports Club.
  • Professional Development: Individual support and training tailored to your needs.
  • Job security: A crisis-proof job in a future-oriented industry.
  • Company pension plan: Attractive company pension plan and capital-forming benefits.
  • Climate-friendly commuting: Commute to work with a subsidized Deutschlandticket or a leased (e-)bike.
  • Company culture: A traditional Cologne-based company with a spirit of innovation.
  • Work-Life Balance: Optimal balance between work, family, and leisure time.
  • Childcare: Company daycare (7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.), summer camps, and emergency childcare.
