The role As Plant Engineering Lead, you work primarily on-site in Balerna, Switzerland, and are responsible for the reliability, efficiency, and development of EngiCer's production infrastructure. From machinery maintenance and optimisation to planning new installations, implementing continuous improvement strategies, and overseeing health & safety — your role ensures that the company's production capacity grows in a solid and sustainable way. Your responsibilities
Manage and/or direct the maintenance and optimisation of all production machinery and equipment, ensuring maximum reliability and minimising unplanned downtime.
Plan, design, and supervise the expansion of facilities, the integration of new machinery and production lines, and the installation of state-of-the-art technologies.
Implement continuous improvement strategies to reduce material waste, operating costs, and energy consumption, with a direct impact on the overall quality of processes.
Ensure compliance with occupational health & safety regulations and monitor process and product quality standards.
Evaluate and promote digitalisation and automation opportunities in production to increase process efficiency and traceability.
Your profile
Degree in mechanical, industrial, or materials engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Proven experience in industrial maintenance and/or production infrastructure management in a manufacturing environment; knowledge of the technical ceramics sector is a significant advantage.
Experience in infrastructure project management: planning, supervision of installations, supplier management.
Familiarity with occupational health & safety regulations.
Good command of IT tools, in particular the Microsoft 365 suite, and familiarity with artificial intelligence tools.
Good knowledge of Italian and English.
Available to work in Balerna (Ticino).
