What You Will Do
Finance Business Partnering
- Act as a key Finance contact and trusted partner for Project Managers and Project Directors.
- Support project teams in understanding the financial performance of their projects.
- Provide practical advice on project financial management and ERM Finance processes.
- Proactively identify financial risks and discuss appropriate actions with Project Managers.
- Challenge project teams constructively where financial performance or project setup requires attention.
Project Financial Management
- Monitor project financial performance, including revenue, costs, profitability, WIP, AR and project forecasts.
- Support Project Managers with project reviews and financial planning.
- Review project financial data and identify unusual developments, risks or opportunities.
- Support appropriate project setup, maintenance and closure throughout the project lifecycle.
- Help ensure project budgets and financial structures are aligned with contractual arrangements.
Billing & O2C
- Partner with Project Managers and centralized operational teams to support timely and accurate billing.
- Help resolve complex billing and project-related issues.
- Support teams in understanding contractual billing requirements, including client‑specific requirements.
- Monitor outstanding financial matters and support timely resolution of issues affecting invoicing, cash collection or project closure.
- Act as an escalation and coordination point for more complex O2C topics.
Governance & Compliance
- Support compliance with ERM policies, contractual requirements and local German requirements.
- Ensure appropriate financial documentation and audit trails are maintained.
- Work closely with relevant teams such as Tax, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Pricing, Revenue, Finance Operations and other specialist teams where required.
- Support consistent global processes while recognizing situations where German legal, tax or business requirements require specific treatment.
Transformation & Continuous Improvement
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of ERM’s new global O2C model.
- Identify process gaps and opportunities for simplification or automation.
- Help Project Managers adopt new Finance processes, systems and ways of working.
- Share feedback from the German business with regional and global process teams.
- Contribute to training, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the Finance community.
What We Are Looking For
- Degree or professional qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in project finance, project controlling, commercial finance or financial business partnering.
- Strong understanding of project financial management and the Order-to-Cash lifecycle.
- Ability to interpret financial information and translate it into clear, practical advice for non-finance colleagues.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders constructively.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and work in a changing, international environment.
- Good understanding of financial controls and compliance requirements.
- Experience with ERP/project management and reporting systems is an advantage.
- Fluent German and strong English skills.
