Senior AI-Native Forward Deployed Engineer in Luzern

EPAM is a leading global provider of digital platform engineering and software development services, with two offices in Switzerland (Zurich, Geneva). We are currently seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior AI-Native Forward Deployed Engineer to join our team in Luzern, Switzerland, in a hybrid working mode.In this role, you will partner directly with business stakeholders and engineering teams to design and deliver AI-native solutions while enabling client organizations to integrate AI technologies across software development and operational processes.This role combines product mindset, architecture and engineering execution, shifting delivery from traditional coding toward AI-driven specifications, agent orchestration and delivery-as-code approaches.ResponsibilitiesOwn business problems from discovery through delivery, converting requirements into AI-driven specifications, workflows and architecturesDesign and implement solutions using AI-first and agent-based architectures to enable development driven by prompts, context and orchestrationServe as a bridge between business, product and engineering teams, promoting AI-native practices across the lifecycleBuild, optimize and manage the lifecycle of prompts, context pipelines and instruction sets, including versioning and evaluation processesOrchestrate AI agents across SDLC workflows and integrate capabilities into existing tools such as IDEs, CI/CD pipelines and cloud environmentsDevelop reusable patterns and frameworks for AI-enabled deliveryEnsure quality, reliability, safety and cost-efficiency of AI-generated outputs with defined validation criteria, reviews and rework cyclesDeliver solutions in an embedded forward-deployed model, working closely with clients on-site or virtuallyCoach client teams through AI-driven transformations and mentor engineers to adopt modern AI-first delivery practicesRequirements5+ years of experience in software engineering and system designHands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering or AI tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot)Strong background with cloud platforms, modern APIs and DevOps practicesProduct-oriented mindset and experience in customer-facing engagementsAbility to operate across business, architecture and technical layersProven experience building AI agents or multi-agent systemsFamiliarity with AI governance, evaluation and safety frameworksExperience in client-facing or forward-deployed rolesStrong written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiencesProfessional fluency in German and EnglishNice to haveCertifications in AI, Machine Learning or major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)Experience in insurance or financial services domainsWe offer5 weeks of vacationEPAM Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)Enhanced parental leaveExtended pension planDaily sickness allowance insuranceEmployee assistance programGlobal business travel medical and accident insuranceLearning and development opportunities including in-house training and coaching, professional certifications, and courses• Please note that any offers will be subject to appropriate background checks• We do not accept CVs from recruiting or staffing agencies• For this position, we are able to consider applications from the following:- Swiss nationals- EU/EFTA nationals- Third-country nationals based in Switzerland with an appropriate work permit- Displaced people from Ukraine who are currently in Switzerland and hold, or have already applied for, S permits
