The Swiss Plasma Center on the EPFL campus is one of the world leaders in fusion research, a field with the potential to provide an abundant, safe and environmentally friendly energy source. Through a rich research programme, we strive to deepen our understanding of plasma physics and propel fusion to the heart of the energy transition.
We are looking for a communications manager who can manage and develop the internal and external communication of our Centre. This person will oversee all communication channels and actively contribute to the organisation’s vision and image with an autonomous role that has a strong strategic and editorial component.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Leads the centre’s communication in collaboration with the SPC management - Defines the communication strategy and implements it through concrete actions - Ensures editorial production and scientific popularisation (articles, news, content) - Manages and publishes the internal newsletter - Writes and distributes press releases, maintains relationships with journalists - Creates content for social media and the web - Manages the centre’s visual identity and graphic charter - Participates in organising internal and external events - Acts as the contact person with Mediacom, EPFL’s central communication unit - Checks the administrative compliance of scientific publications
Profile
- You hold a university degree, or equivalent - You have at least 5 years’ experience in journalism, institutional communication and/or public and media relations - You are passionate about research and scientific development as well as communication in this field - You are proficient in managing social media and digital tools - You have excellent writing skills and are confident in oral communication, both in French and English - You are creative, dynamic and autonomous - You are interested in scientific issues and open to multicultural environments
