Overview
In this PhD role you contribute to multimodal generative AI research for materials discovery. You work within the LTS2 Lab on integrating AI models with automated experimental platforms and simulations. You collaborate across disciplines to design, run, and interpret experiments, and to publish your findings. This position offers a path into an ERC Synergy project with international collaboration and access to state-of-the-art facilities. You will shape new AI architectures and contribute to a transformative materials discovery blueprint.

- Outstanding MSc degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related field
- Proficiency in generative deep learning or willingness to learn (latent diffusion, multimodal approaches, statistics, and learning theory)

- Ability to understand, implement, and test new AI architectures
- Willingness to participate in international, interdisciplinary research
