This is a chance to shape regulatory strategy, not just follow the rules. You'll take ownership of the Regulatory Affairs function at a well-established global manufacturer. You'll lead the team, build a global regulatory structure, and play a key part in keeping the business compliant as regulation keeps changing.
What you'll be doing
- Leading and developing the Regulatory Affairs team, as both functional and line manager
- Building and developing a global framework for managing regulatory topics across the business
- Making sure the business complies with national and international regulations, especially chemicals legislation such as REACH, CLP and global equivalents
- Monitoring regulatory developments to spot risks early and turn them into clear actions
- Developing and putting in place business-specific compliance strategies
- Creating, maintaining and controlling product regulatory information and documentation
- Running regulatory training and audits across the organisation
- Working closely with Safety, Health, Environment & Quality, R&D and Product Development, Procurement, Sustainability and Product Management
- Representing the business on internal and external industry committees, and with customers and regulatory authorities
What they're looking for
- A PhD in Chemistry or a master's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline
- 5+ years' experience in Product Safety, Regulatory Affairs or Product Stewardship, ideally in chemicals, materials, adhesives, coatings, polymers or a similar manufacturing environment
- Experience leading people or teams, whether as a line manager or through clear functional leadership
- Strong knowledge of chemicals legislation, product safety, product liability, and occupational and environmental regulations
- A strategic thinker and confident communicator who can influence stakeholders at all levels
- A structured way of working and confidence using digital tools and regulatory systems
- Fluent English, plus German at an advanced level or higher
