Principal Consultant - Product, Transformation & Delivery in München

München Vollzeit Vor Ort

AI is changing what products can offer customers and how organisations work. Leaders feel the pressure, but the hard questions remain: where to invest, what to build next, and how to organise teams around it.

As an Equal Experts (EE) Principal Consultant - Product, Transformation & Delivery you will help them answer those questions. You start from what AI and agents make possible, connect customer insight, market direction and business goals into a clear product strategy, and redesign the teams, operating models and decision rights around it. You are clear about where human judgement stays essential, and you stay with the client until the new

ways of working have taken hold.

This is a permanent Germany-based role, therefore fluent German language skills are required. Also a minimum of 15+ years of relevant working experience is expected.

What you'll do?

  • Lead the first foot into engagements. Run discovery and diagnosis through interviews, workshops, and customer, market and opportunity research. Turn what you find into a proposal or product hypothesis the client can say yes to.
  • Bring AI-first thinking to strategy and transformation. Start from what AI and agents make possible, and help leaders decide where it should reshape the proposition, the customer experience, internal products and the way work flows.
  • Show clients the art of the possible. Across the product lifecycle, from AI-assisted research and synthetic users to AI-generated specifications, prototypes and acceptance criteria, and usage data that closes the loop on what customers value, while knowing where research with real customers is still needed.
  • Map and improve the value stream end to end. Find the moments where customers and the business gain or lose the most value, trace where work waits, hands off or loops back, and remove the constraints so value reaches customers faster and more predictably.
  • Redesign how teams and organisations work. Shape operating models, team boundaries, roles and ownership for external and internal products as AI takes on parts of the work, with options, trade-offs and a transition path for existing people. Help teams adopt new practices with appropriate guardrails.
  • Shape product direction and how work is funded. Work with leaders on vision, outcome-focused roadmaps and portfolio choices, and with finance and executive teams on how work is funded, prioritised and decided.
  • Make delivery achievable. Advise on delivery models, prioritisation and sequencing when ambition and capacity pull apart, and work with architects to connect product direction with platform choices.
  • Define success and track it. Agree outcome and flow measures that link product bets and change to business results, including how to evaluate AI features once they are live. Set baselines before change begins, so investment rests on evidence.
  • Coach leaders and build lasting capability. Communicate the direction, work through resistance, role‑model new behaviours, and spot where adoption is stalling. Create capability and AI literacy plans so the client can carry the change forward without us.

What you’ll bring?

  • Exceptional consulting and stakeholder skills. Credibility at senior and executive level, and the ability to anchor and take accountability for complex engagements while holding the broad business and technical picture.
  • A pre-sales and commercial temperament. You spot where EE can add value and shape the case for it, switch quickly between many opportunities, work with sales and marketing on very little context, and are at ease with a high hit-loss ratio. You are willing to go post-technical for a period.
  • AI curiosity. A genuine, active curiosity about how AI is reshaping the way organisations work and deliver, and the judgement to tell a real shift from hype.
  • Clear communication-style. You speak to technical and non-technical audiences without losing precision in either direction.
  • A consultative instinct. You are driven by client outcomes rather than personal preference, and champion better ideas ahead of your own. You mentor others and share knowledge freely.
  • Organisational courage. You name uncomfortable things, take observations to the people who can act on them, and bring suggestions for a course of action.Commercial literacy. You can build a business case and understand the economics behind product and funding decisions.
  • A talent for facilitation. You design collaborations that bring leaders with different views to a shared decision they commit to.
  • Change leadership. You role‑model the change you ask for, including one-to-one coaching of senior leaders.
  • Delivery and technology understanding and interest. Enough to be credible with engineering and product leaders, and to see how technical choices show up as organisational constraints.

What’s in for you?

  • Experienced peers and a flat culture. EE employees have at least 10 years’ experience and the company has a flat structure. Reviewers on Glassdoor call colleagues strong and humble, and say “there is always someone who is willing to answer”.
  • Autonomy and trust. Teams make their own decisions within shared values and a team charter, and the company says it trusts people “at scale”.
  • Employee ownership. EE is “100% network owned”, no investor is or can come onboard.
  • Strong employee satisfaction. Glassdoor shows 4.8 out of 5 from 393 reviews, with 97% recommending EE. Culture and values and work/life balance both score 4.8, and compensation and benefits 4.5.
  • Meaningful, varied work with excellent practice. EE employees “make an impact everyday” and follow strong industry software practices.
  • Competitive commercial package, including a very attractive retirement provision.
