Critical Facilities Engineer IV - FR16 Data Centre

Overview

Critical Facilities Engineer IV – FR16 Data Centre role at Equinix. Frankfurt FR16 data centre operations team. You will perform semi-routine maintenance and repairs, coordinate with vendors, support site administration, complete work orders, assist senior staff, ensure vendor compliance, manage inventory, and collaborate on infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain electrical and mechanical infrastructure, ensuring reliable operation
• Perform site inspections, supervise building and data center alarms, and oversee preventative maintenance
• Repair and maintain equipment, gather data for permits, and complete site logs
• Assist senior staff with on-site incidents and progressively handle basic incidents independently
• Support infrastructure projects and assist with small works such as lighting upgrades
• Work various shifts (days, nights, weekends) to ensure continuous operations
• Resolve client tickets through the Equinix Ticket system and meet SLA standards
• Report health and safety issues promptly to the line manager

Qualifications

• German language proficiency and good command of English
• Completed vocational training as electrician / electronics technician / energy electronics technician / refrigeration and air conditioning technician or equivalent
• Broad knowledge of critical infrastructure (UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, life safety systems)
• Self-motivated, flexible, and able to communicate clearly with customers
• Basic understanding of Maximo, Power BI, MS Office (Word/Excel) or similar tools (optional)
