Based in Hanover, PA, and reporting to the Sr. Director Finance, North America, the Plant Controller will oversee the finance operations and performance for the manufacturing facility. This key, onsite leadership role will manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis and financial planning to support strategic decision-making and profitability. The Controller ensures financial integrity, compliance with corporate policies and practices and effective financial management.
This role requires a results-driven change agent with the ability, aptitude and tenacity to roll up their sleeves and to drive transformation change in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serves as a trusted business advisor to the Plant Manager, Sr. Director Finance, North America and the Sr. Director, NAM Filler Metal Operations
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manages month-end close, ensuring general ledger is closed within timelines of ESAB’s closing policy and prepares timely monthly financial statements and other operational reports.
- Ensures proper accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as local statutory requirements
- Reviews and performs account analysis and reconciliations.
- Manages fixed assets administration (CIP follow up, FA Cycle counts, Capitalizations, Disposals, Transfers)
- Provides regular updates and reviews of financial status and progress against various programs to senior leaders.
- Establishes or provides input into financial strategies, objectives and policies.
- Fosters a culture of continuous improvement to lead, coach and develop a team of finance professionals.
- Develops strong working relationships with colleagues throughout the site and across the enterprise.
- Supports and/or facilitates audits, and manages timely resolution and process discipline to remedy findings
- Manages Internal/External audit requirements, ensuring internal controls are established and followed; providing necessary documentation to auditor inquiries
- Promotes and adheres to all safe work practices and/or safety policies.
- Assists in or leads other projects or initiatives as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required; CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.
- 7+ years’ experience in financial management with prior experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred. Multi-site experience is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP required.
- Prior cost accounting experience required.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal & professional integrity and promote ethical business behavior throughout the organization.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and financial software; prior ERP implementation experience a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Pay Range:
$141,322.00 - $165,548.00 Base (negotiable); 15% Bonus
