Equipment Engineer (m/f/d) in Dresden

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment performance in a cleanroom environment to support stable, high-quality production.
• Handle on-duty tasks and perform fundamental alarm troubleshooting.
• Install and qualify new tool sets according to project plans and schedules.
• Identify root causes and solve critical equipment issues.
• Improve tool uptime and availability while driving defect reduction.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for hardware capability enhancement.
• Build defense and monitoring systems to prevent equipment failures and performance loss.
• Manage vendor relationships and act as module liaison with facilities, vendors, and manufacturing shift personnel.
• Support scheduled night shifts, evening shifts, weekend work, on-duty assignments, and on-call duties as required in a 24/7 high-volume manufacturing environment.

Your profile

• Degree in electronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechanics, mechatronics, material engineering, or an equivalent field
• Practical experience in a mechanical or equipment-related field
• Understanding of technical documentation and schematics
• Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing is a plus
• Fluent in English with good command of German
• Hands-on working attitude with an open mindset
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Available for approximately one year of on-the-job training in Taiwan
• Open for scheduled and occasional shift work, on call duty
• Able to perform physical work on tools in a cleanroom environment

• Start Date: This role is planned to commence on January 1, 2027, in Dresden. If this start date is not possible for you please revert to an alterative job posting for your initial application.
• Onboarding and International Training: The first month of onboarding will be in Dresden. Following this initial onboarding, you will travel to Taiwan for a one-year on-the-job training. Your training in Taiwan will include theoretical training TSMC’s state-of-the-art Newcomer Training Center in Taichung as well as hands on, on-the-job training and close collaboration with experienced TSMC engineering teams working on the technology that will be transfered to Dresden.
• Logistical support: For new employees who reside more than 90 minutes away from Dresden and requiring accommodation during the first month, ESMC will organize appropriate temporary lodging. This provision does not apply to employees who establish a residential address in Dresden (e.g., to expedite work permit procedures away from their original place of residence) or who terminate a personal lease contract in Dresden prior to their planned departure to Taiwan. Furthermore, ESMC will organize and provide air and ground transportation from Dresden to Taichung (Taiwan) and back at the conclusion of the training. Accommodation in Taiwan will be fully provided in one of TSMC’s modern and comfortable company dormitories for the entity of the training duration.
