Position Summary
Recurring Remote Operations Producer manages the execution of operational, technical, and logistical aspects of remote‑based sports television productions.
The producer interprets, implements, and manages departmental standards related to remote television broadcasts, ensuring accuracy, cost control, and timeliness of assigned events.
They lead and coordinate event preparation and on‑site oversight, collaborating with Operations Management and Production.
The role has a 125‑day work limit per fiscal year and allows non‑exclusive staff work with other clients outside Disney.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all operational and technical aspects of assigned remote events.
- Provide guidance and training to Remote Operations staff, including Operations Coordinators and technical crew.
- Act as on‑site manager of personnel, ensuring ESPN Workplace Conduct and Safety Policies are followed, and vetting and authorizing on‑site personnel.
- Ensure appropriate timelines for technical and financial planning are met.
- Create and build event‑specific paperwork—surveys, tech books, and post reports—to ensure accuracy and timeliness of reporting.
- Facilitate troubleshooting of complex technical, operational, and personnel issues on site, following up with appropriate support groups for persistent issues.
- Oversee all on‑site activity with crew, including approval of time‑entry, travel, and overtime.
- Address performance issues with crew on‑site as necessary.
- Maintain advanced knowledge of current broadcast standards and emerging developments.
- Attend industry events assigned by Management relative to specific assignments.
- Assist in development and implementation of new technologies for assigned remote events.
- Required Qualifications
- Regular travel to remote events, including international locations.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays throughout the year.
- Knowledge of organization, procurement, financial, and logistics planning for show creation.
- Working knowledge of differing production models, signal flow, scalability, and transmission.
- Familiarity with developments in equipment technology and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal, voice, email communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Deep knowledge of technical equipment requirements for ESPN’s remote operations.
- Administration of hiring and payment policies.
- Operations within the Remote Operations department’s defined goals.
- Maintain communication flow with peers to share best practices and maximize third‑party vendor contacts.
- Fluency in common computer‑based software for data compilation, information distribution, and presentations.
- Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of related technical and/or operational planning, on‑site management, and procurement experience.
- Knowledge of technical software tools relevant to broadcast planning.
- Solid knowledge of communications workflow supporting technical broadcast plan fulfillment.
- Established relationships throughout the broadcast industry with third‑party vendors and clients.

Compensation and Benefits
The hiring range for this remote position is $67,200 to $91,300 per year, adjusted for geographic region and individual qualifications.
Compensation may include a bonus and/or long‑term incentive units, plus a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
