QA Consultant

Position Description

We are looking for an experienced QA Consultant to help establish, implement, and continuously improve our Quality Assurance practices across multiple products and development initiatives.

This role is focused on QA strategy, planning, process definition, improvement and knowledge transfer.

The successful candidate will work closely with Product, Engineering, and Delivery teams to ensure that new quality assurance processes are created and embedded throughout the software development lifecycle and that releases meet the required quality standards before reaching clients.

The role combines QA consulting, practical implementation, and employee training.

The consultant will assess existing QA practices, develop and introduce appropriate processes and standards, and train internal employees to apply them effectively in their day-to-day work.

The position requires someone who can effectively define testing approaches, manage testing activities across projects, and establish scalable QA processes and standards.

The consultant should be able to explain QA principles and practices clearly, provide hands‑on guidance, and help internal employees develop the skills needed to work independently.

You will be responsible for creating and maintaining test plans, test strategies, test cases, and quality metrics while coordinating testing efforts across both manual and automated testing initiatives.

• Position Responsibilities
• Define, implement, and continuously improve QA processes, standards, methodologies, and best practices across the organization.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and test cases for new and existing products.
• Work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and define testing approaches.
• Ensure quality is embedded throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Drive test planning, test execution, defect management, and release readiness activities.
• Manage QA activities using Jira and related project management and reporting tools.
• Track, analyze, and report quality metrics, testing progress, defect trends, and release quality indicators.
• Identify quality risks early and proactively propose mitigation strategies.
• Support and improve both manual and automated testing practices and recommend appropriate tools and approaches.
• Facilitate collaboration between QA, Product, Engineering, and Delivery teams to improve overall product quality and delivery efficiency.
• Train and mentor internal employees on QA processes, testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Provide hands‑on guidance during the implementation of new QA processes and practices, review their adoption, and recommend improvements where needed.
• Develop practical documentation, guidelines, and training materials to support consistent application of QA practices.
• Support the transition of newly established QA practices to internal ownership.
• Position Requirements
• Proven experience as a Senior QA Engineer, QA Lead, QA Manager, QA Consultant, or in a similar senior QA role.
• Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile software delivery methodologies.
• Experience establishing, implementing, and scaling QA processes across projects, products, or growing technology organizations.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, testing processes, defect management, and quality assurance best practices.
• Experience coordinating testing activities across multiple projects and teams.
• Hands‑on experience with Jira and related project tracking and reporting tools.
• Understanding of QA metrics, reporting frameworks, and quality governance practices.
• Solid understanding of web application testing and modern software architectures.
• Experience working alongside development, product, and business teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Strong analytical thinking, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and transfer practical QA knowledge to other employees.
• Experience introducing new QA processes or methodologies and supporting their adoption within a team or organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Upper‑intermediate (or higher) level of English.
• Ability to work effectively in a distributed international team environment.
• Experience with leveraging the latest AI tools to increase productivity with automation, where feasible (e. g., Codex, Chat GPT, etc.).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Bonus Skills (optional, but would be a plus)
• Experience working within financial technology, capital markets, or electronic trading environments.
• Familiarity with FIX Protocol and related financial messaging technologies.
• Experience with trading platforms, exchange connectivity, certification testing, or market infrastructure systems.
• Experience contributing to automation of API or protocol tests.
• Experience working with both web-based and desktop enterprise applications.
• Experience validating implementation against UI/UX designs and product specifications.
