We are hiring a Senior Sustainability Manager within the Professional Hygiene Business Unit, which operates in North America and Europe under the Tork brand. About the role

As a Senior Sustainability Manager, you will lead key sustainability activities within the product organization and manage a dedicated team of two professionals. Your responsibilities include defining and implementing the BU Product sustainability strategy aligned with Essity\’s targets, creating and executing roadmaps and 5-year plans, and ensuring a sustainable product assortment. You will also oversee certification strategies and coordinate activities to secure compliance (e.g., eco labelling, FSC certifications).

You will report to the Product Management Director Assortment & Packaging and be part of the Product Management team. The role requires periodic travel (up to 20% per year).

What You Will Do

• Define the sustainability strategy for the product organization in alignment with the overall product strategy.
• Develop sustainability roadmaps and contribute to category roadmaps.
• Set and monitor sustainability KPIs in line with company targets.
• Facilitate key sustainability initiatives linked to product roadmaps and compliance.
• Coordinate sustainability certifications and ensure compliance.
• Drive the sustainability agenda within the product team and forums.
• Build competence and guide product management teams on sustainability tasks.
• Support communication and development of sustainability claims.
• Engage with customers on product sustainability aspects.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders for alignment.
• Lead or participate in sustainability projects.

Who You Are

You are a good communicator, customer-driven, and thrive in an international environment. You are self-motivated, capable of challenging yourself, and eager to develop in new areas.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• At least 5 years of experience in sustainability roles; product management experience is a plus.
• Leadership experience.
• Relevant business understanding, preferably B2B.
• Project management skills and stakeholder engagement experience.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Experience with sustainability management, certifications, and reporting (e.g., LCA, GHG, GRI, CSRD) is a plus.
• Knowledge of management systems like ISO 14001 and product sustainability certifications is a plus.
