Regional Court of Montagnes and Val-de-Ruz The District Court is the cantonal judicial authority of first instance responsible for delivering civil and criminal justice. It does so independently, diligently, and rigorously. The District Court is spread over three sites and consists of the following sections: conciliation chamber, civil court, child and adult protection authority (APEA), juvenile criminal court, police court, criminal court, and coercive measures court. The Regional Court of Montagnes and Val-de-Ruz is recruiting for an 80% secretary position attached to the civil registry.
Your tasks As a secretary at the Regional Court of Montagnes and Val-de-Ruz, you participate in the administrative management of files and intervene in their processing, while ensuring rigorous follow-up of judicial procedures and decisions. The civil court handles cases relating to relationships between individuals and businesses, notably in contract law and civil liability. It rules on civil disputes and also intervenes in non-contentious procedures requiring legal authorisation or validation. It is also competent to make all judicial decisions relating to debt enforcement and bankruptcy law. In your role, you are responsible for the constitution and administrative processing of judicial files. This includes drafting both correspondence and decisions, scheduling hearings and assisting at them, particularly by taking minutes (either by dictation or shorthand). You are also responsible for sending, enforcing, and archiving the decisions rendered while acting as the primary point of contact to welcome and inform litigants, lawyers, or other administrative services, whether at the counter or by telephone.
Your profile Holder of a Federal VET Diploma as a commercial employee or an equivalent qualification, you have prior relevant experience for the position, ideally in the judicial environment or in a law firm. Recognised for your loyalty and discretion, you are strongly committed to public service values and possess a sense of responsibility. An excellent command of French, typing skills, and proficiency in the Office suite are prerequisites for this position. Autonomous and highly organised, you are proactive and able to take initiatives within the scope of your responsibilities. You enjoy handling complex files requiring attention to detail. Moreover, you stand out for your extreme rigour and precision. You are also able to adapt quickly to new environments and integrate into a team. Stress-resistant, you manage, thanks to excellent prioritisation skills, to handle a large volume of tasks and respond to multiple demands while respecting both urgency levels and deadlines. This position also requires a clean criminal record and debt enforcement record.
