Overview
PhD position in debris-flow monitoring focusing on high-resolution velocity and flow-depth estimation using field data and sensors. You will work within the Engineering Geology Group to advance debris-flow understanding and risk management, combining field installations with data analysis. The role integrates fieldwork at five study sites, data from sensors originally used in mobile robotics, and hypothesis-driven in-situ measurements. This SNSF-funded project offers training, labs, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to shape hazard assessment and mitigation.
